How to Lose Stomach Fat Series – Post 1 – Myths and Facts About Losing Body Fat


OK… let’s put it down and admit the real reason why you are reading this post about how to lose stomach fat… you want to look and fee terrific about yourself! And we can all admit it… fat looks terrible. And fat is tightly correlated to your overall health. So the less excess fat you carry… the better you look and the healthier you will be.

However, all body fat isn’t bad. You actually need SOME body fat… it is critical for overall health…

For instance, fat in your body is the secondary source of energy… sugar and starches is the first (your body gets it from the muscles).

However, that energy source from your muscles gives out after ten minutes or so from heavy activity… at that point… your body switches over to the fat stored in the muscle tissues throughout your body. And the little engine in your body is going to take that fat and convert it to sugar which is used as energy.

Sounds pretty simple huh? First a couple of things… caffeine ain’t energy… it just stimulates your central nervous systems. So those energy drinks you see folks drinking all the time? It is the sugars in them that is used for energy. In short… those folks who drink the energy drinks will never lose fat… because they just created a 3rd source of energy that jumps ahead of the fat in the body. It is way easier to convert the sugars from the energy drinks than the fat… so I hope for your sake you ain’t drinkin’ energy drinks because you are just kidding yourself here…

But what the hey! It’s your body and your decision…

Now fat is what makes the women curvy… which is really contradictory when you see all those stereotypes thrown at the women to be “thin.” Biologically, women are hardwired to store fat in strategic areas… for childbearing.

However as hard as women may fight it… your body is going to store fat in all the wrong areas… stuch as the belly and thighs… especially during a woman’s childbearing years… just because the body is designed to store fat for the eventual case of pregnancy.

Here is another good reason for your body to store fat… it acts like an insulator for cold temperatures and hotter temperatures. Fat acts like a blanket… it protects  your internal organs from too much temperature variations… think about bears, deers, grazing animals and whales… they all have a layer of fat underneath their fur/skin as protection for the coming winters.

Now for me… I have very low body fat… and the reason for that is because I enjoy moderate exercise and I watch my diet most of the time… as a result… cold winters are hot temperatures are very uncomfortable for me… so I need to wear extra clothing in the winter time.

This explains why I can be with friends and they are wearing bahamian clothing while I’m freezing my butt off…

But I look at it this way… I rather be mobile and healthy and look great… and am willing to put up with the cold weather.

So the personal choice is up to you…

Another reason for fat is the padding on the bottom of your feet and the palms of your hands. That padding acts like a cushion to protect your bones from wearing out. Like I mentioned before… the fat also acts like a padding around your internal organs… it keeps them from shifting around too much.

So by now you should be aware that SOME FAT is needed for good health. The problem of course is that too much excess fat is not so good… and most adult fall in this category.

And it looks terrible… and you think about it all the time. How do I know? Well, a year ago… I too had a tire around my midsection… and I absolutely hated it! I didn’t like the way it looked. And I thought about it all the time.

So I decided… hey, I will do whatever it takes to get rid of it… and I created this website and blog to tell you all about how to lose stomach fat too…

The truth of the matter is this… it is so simple to get a great looking and healthy body… it just isn’t as easy. Again, it is simple but not so easy…

And let’s look at the disadvantages of too much excess fat… it can cause all kinds of health problems… from high blood pressure… increased chances of heart diseases… adult onset diabetes and joint diseases such as arthritis.

Besides… my biggest peeve against have a tire around my midsection? Not being able to feel good about my body.

Because there isn’t a whole lot we can be proud of and show it… than our own bodies… so why not take control of your body stewardship today and say… “I want to know how to lose stomach fat… and keep it off!”
