Overcoming Fat Loss is Very Simple But Damn Hard to Do

Excuse my “French” in the title… but I wanted to catch your eye and make an emphatic point that the right information to lose your fat is available and it is pretty simple to follow…

But it is really, really hard to do!!

And that’s for sure! Let me tell you a little bit about a NBA basketball player by the name of Michael Sweetney… he has battled weight issues…

NBA fans of the New York Knicks and Chicago Bulls are probably familiar with this guy…

You see, he was the 9th overall draft pick in the 2003 NBA draft… by the New York Knicks. Michael was 6′ 8″ and about 270 pounds. He played for New York for two years… sporadically… and then was traded to the Chicago Bulls for… Eddy Curry… another overweight basketball player (sigh).

For some reason, the Chicago Bulls decided not to re-sign Michael Sweetney in 2006… and Michael dropped off the map for the past three years. Rumor was that Michael was told if he didn’t lose weight, his NBA career would be in jeopardy.

And all of a sudden at the Boston Celtics summer camp earlier this year… we see Michael Sweetney playing for the Celtics… and although he has even gained MORE weight. But I could see that he has basketball skills. He is a good rebounder… he has a nice offensive game. And his best attributes was his soft hands. But I’m sure his weight ballooned up above 350 pounds… (see picture below)

I guess the Boston Celtics was intrigued so much by him that they invited Michael Sweetney to the regular training camp to play some preseason games…

But Michael’s weight is still an issue as you can see in the before and after photo below…

My point is this… NBA players make a lot of money… more money than kings do if they are good. So it would be in their best interest to be in the BEST playing condition possible to maximize their potential… right?

Sure. But Michael actually walked away from it all when it was obvious that he did have skills to have a nice NBA career.

In short, Michael made a choice that it was easier for him to avoid dealing with his weight loss then enjoy a NBA career and make some money for himself.

Until now…

If anything… I think hitching up with the Boston Celtics is probably one of the best decisions Michael made… because the Celtics are very close and supportive of each other. In fact, in a recent interview… Michael actually said something like this… that the stars of the Celtics were helping him out with his weight issues…

And here’s the major point of my blog post… I feel that the three major components to being successful in losing body fat… and keeping it off is:

  1. Proper diet
  2. Moderate exercise plan
  3. Community support

Obviously, Michael Sweetney KNOWS what he should and should not be eating… and he is playing to get into shape… the only thing left is community support… now, I’m not sure if he ever got it from NY or Chicago… but many NBA teams are dysfunctional… and that could have contributed to Michael’s abandonment of his NBA career…

But who knows? It would be speculating…

So there you go… if Michael Sweetney can bounce back… so can you. You have to keep trying. Keep looking for the community support to help you stick with it…

But the diet and exercise information is easier… I recommend these three abs programs that will get you off and running…

Good luck,

P.S. God bless Michael… we are all rooting for you! If you don’t make it on the Celtics roster for the regular season… I’m sure some other team will be grateful to have your skills…

I think that the biggest problem with getting flat stomach is that people often do not continue doing exercises or keeping diet. It is very much in our brain. We would like to have it flat but it is hard to sacrifice for it. And even if one get it then often do not maintain it so after couple of months everything is as before. who doesn’t want to lose some weight on the stomach and train stomach muscles to have a “six pack” ABS? This is very difficult. The are numbers of things that we have to consider. This list is probably not everything:
    1. Exercises – very important
    2. Fat burning diet – with this maybe exercises will not have to be so intensive
    3. Cardio exercises – running, bike
    4. Mental change – this is the hardest. It is very hard to motivate these days
    5. Eat often and less – this is also very healthy
